Brasco Wins Silver w3 Award for the Raleigh Housing Authority Website

We’re so excited to share that the Raleigh Housing Authority (RHA) website has received a Silver w3 Award in the General Websites: Municipal Organizations category!

The w3 Awards, sanctioned by the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts (AIVA), celebrate excellence in digital experiences, recognizing standout achievements in design, content, technology, and storytelling. The competition honors agencies and creators who set trends, break boundaries, and shape the digital landscape.

This new category recognizes websites created by or for municipal organizations that effectively foster public engagement, communicate community impact, and demonstrate creativity in digital design.

About the Project

We submitted the Raleigh Housing Authority website for consideration because of the collaboration and meaningful impact behind the project.

From initial strategy sessions to stakeholder workshops, the project represented a strong partnership between Raleigh Housing Authority’s team and Brasco’s. Together, we focused on developing a comprehensive website strategy and an intuitive user journey that ensures accessibility for all audiences.

Beyond the creative process, this was also an opportunity to highlight the important work that the Raleigh Housing Authority does within the affordable housing and municipal sector, creating and managing safe, affordable homes while building stronger, more inclusive communities.

The Raleigh Housing Authority website project was a collaboration rooted in purpose. Together with RHA’s team, we developed a comprehensive website strategy, design, and development approach centered on accessibility, community engagement, and clarity.

This project was distinctive in several ways:

  • A purpose-built design informed by extensive user journey mapping
  • A collaborative process engaging multiple RHA stakeholders to ensure cross-departmental alignment
  • The launch of a refreshed brand identity alongside a modern website design
  • A focus on accessibility to serve residents, partners, and the broader Raleigh community effectively

What Makes This Website Unique

What truly sets this project apart is its depth of collaboration and purpose-driven design.

  • A design informed by extensive user journey mapping, ensuring an intuitive and inclusive digital experience
  • Cross-departmental input from a diverse group of RHA stakeholders to meet every department’s needs
  • A seamless integration of branding and digital design, launching both a new brand identity and website simultaneously
  • A commitment to accessibility, clarity, and community engagement, all central to RHA’s mission and service

This project stood out for its complexity and collaboration.

We conducted in-depth user experience research, building detailed user journeys to guide navigation, structure, and content flow. Engaging with numerous RHA stakeholders ensured the site reflected the organization as a whole. One of our main goals was balancing functional accessibility with modern design, creating a website that was as user-friendly as it was visually engaging. The result was a digital experience that empowers visitors, connects communities, and communicates RHA’s impact in a clear, accessible way.
